DREAM Advisory Board

Some other very special people support DREAM on a completely volunteer basis, supplying their expertise in a significant way.

DREAM’s Advisory Board is a group of experts who act as advisors on specialized topics.  These very special people have agreed to make themselves available to DREAM for projects, and educational materials, as well as providing insight to the DREAM Board of Directors on policies and procedures.  Some also act as direct coaches to foster homes about care for their dogs.  None of our Advisory Board is compensated for advising DREAM in this capacity.

  • Regina Barbour is our Veterinary Technician Advisor.  She coaches our board and foster homes on specialized home care like insulin injections and subcutaneous fluids.  Regina is developing a series of brochures and displays on dog home care topics like dental disease and heartworms, for us to distribute at our events.  She is designing a set of Dog First Aid Kits for DREAM to use for fundraising.  Regina is a Registered Veterinary Technician at Bethlehem Veterinary Hospital.  Regina is also the proud mama of two DREAM alums, Zoe and Paddington.  You can follow her on Twitter at @gigitheRVT –she often tweets about her own doxies as well as the animals she cares for with Dr. Frost.

  • Dr. Marie Lance is DREAM’s Heartworm Protocol Advisor.  Dr. Marie is also a Board member of the Heartworm Association of America, so DREAM is very fortunate to have her guidance in our policies for caring for the many dogs who enter our program positive for heartworms.  The Heartworm Association of America calls Dr. Marie a Heartworm Hero, and we agree!  Dr. Marie’s general veterinary practice is in Gainesville, GA.

  • Fizz Brands’  Suzanne Moccia and Sara Wakefield advise and help DREAM with Marketing and PR for Events, specifically for HowlOWeenie. Suzanne is a dachshund mama (when she is not building marketing fizz for companies as a VP for Fizz Brands).  Sara has spearheaded publicity for HowlOWeenie for the past two years, writing press releases, finding media opportunities (we got on TV!), and making connections that bring the masses to our October dachshund festival.  You can follow Sara on Twitter @SaraGoodkind.  The Twitter feed of @FizzBrands will tell you all about how they help ambitious companies create the essence of a new brand with all the skills and services necessary to run a marketing campaign.

If you happen to see any of our generous advisors, please thank them for their support of DREAM foster dachshunds!
